“A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense and is thereby a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.” ― Ansel Adams

Joseph Gierek Fine Art Gallery
Three of my photographs will be included in “EXPOSED,” a group photography exhibition to open Thursday, June 30, 6 – 8pm at Joseph Gierek Fine Art in Tulsa. I stopped in the gallery recently while the exhibit is being hung, and I am really impressed with diversity of photography works as well as the photographers represented. Exhibition is through August 2016.

Artist Statement, “EXPOSED”
As a multimedia artist, my work involves the continuation of my interest in the origin and transcendence of thought. I enjoy working across painting, photography, video, sculpture and installation, choosing the medium I feel best expresses my concept. I desire finding new ways to show the relationship between the natural world, artist, art, and viewer with the transformation of materials in a visual poetic resonance.
Nature plays a vital role in my creative expression, and is the foundation for many of my body of works. I have been photographing my time in nature alongside my larger body of art works for several years now, as well as collaborated with photographers in the past with my paintings. Much of my personal art inspiration comes from nature’s palette, its seasonal changes and relationship to humankind. Nature inspires me to discover new materials to work with while providing a place for my ideas to exist in calm and solitude and eventually create from. I find art within nature itself, with the photograph being another medium to express what I see and feel.
My childhood was spent in Europe and later in the Washington D.C. area, where I graduated from The Corcoran College of Art & Design. I have been a working artist for 25 years, residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma for twenty years. I enjoy much creative input time in Europe, these days Sweden when I am able.
